Today, members of our students' association Bio-Bellver had the privilege to meet Queen Sofia whilst participating in a week long sailing excursion whose purpose is to study the extent of sea pollution in the Mediterranean Sea.
The association Bio-Bellver was created by some of our secondary students with the objective of raising awareness regarding the importance of recycling and looking after the environment not only in school but in our community. This academic year, one of their most striking initiative has been their campaign to reduce the number of plastic bottles used in school, which has been a real success! Thanks to their hard work, they won first place in the "changemakers competition" and a one week sailing excursion on the scientific boat Toftevaag, where they are currently assisting scientists in their research. Queen Sofia visited the boat this morning in order to hear more about the work of the crew and their findings. She also dedicated some time to speaking with the members of Bio-Bellver.
