This week in Bellver International School, Years 1, 2, and 3 had an interesting time doing experiments in their science lessons. Thanks to a dental firm who provided all the necessary equipment, story books, sets of teeth etc the pupils were able to see the dreadful effect that sugar and acid have on their teeth. They took home plaque disclosing tablets and coloured in the results, on a picture of teeth, after chewing them and there were a lot of surprised youngsters! The plenary was great fun as the students were given headlamps and working in pairs had to look in each other’s mouths to see what they could spot and also had to count the teeth! Hopefully we have helped them become more aware of the importance of mouth hygiene.
