Students from Years 7, 8 and 9 at Bellver International College had an opportunity to visit the natural history museum in Soller recently. There they were shown exhibits depicting the flora and fauna of the island.
In the gardens of the museum, the student were shown the different environments that can be found in Mallorca and the varieties of plants found in them.
Infants, Reception and Year one attended a trip to visit the Mounted Police up at Bellver Castle on Thursday 4th May. Reception have been learning about people who help us in our community, they enjoyed asking the police questions such as 'how they catch the bad guys?!' and meeting the horses who assist them in their role. After lunch we took advantage of our terrain where the year ones took the lead in a bug hunt by putting into practice all they had been learning in class about mini beasts.
Duke of Edinburgh expidition
Year 10 from Bellver International College took part in an unique expedition of the 'Duke of Edinburgh Award' (an organisation that allows teenagers from ages 14-24 to take part in a major challenge and explore their abilities and skills) to Es Pixarells.
Accompanied by two teachers, the trip lasted 2 days, and consisted of the students walking from Son Amer to the Binifaldó during the day and camping in Es Pixarells for the night. On the way to the camping site, they had to orienteer their way through the mountains and forests of the area with maps. The next day, they took another route through the mountains and had the chance to explore a cave called 'Sa Cometa d'es Morts'. During the exclusive expedition, the pupils learned how to use map skills, develop team work, discover how to mount tents, cook using gas stoves and much more! It was a fun and interesting expedition that taught all pupils many different things that will definitely not be forgotten by them.

Year 6 trip to Soller
As part of their topic work for the Primary Creative Curriculum, Year 6 went on a trip to the charming town of Soller on the historic Tren de Soller for their ‘Terrific Transport’ topic. The children excitedly counted each of the thirteen tunnels going through the Serra de Tramuntana mountains and had fun finding the answers to the excursion questionnaire that their teacher had prepared for them. They investigated the history of the Soller Railway and identified each of the places that the train stopped on a map. They also went on the Soller tram from the town to the Port and enjoyed a picnic on the beach.
