Year 11 students at Bellver International College recently participated in fieldwork to Cala Major. As students approach their final exams they were involved in coastal fieldwork to help prepare. Students undertook a number of research tasks including carrying out an Environmental Impact Assessment survey, identifying the range of sea defences in place and evaluating the rate of erosion at the beach. Students did wave surveys to analyse the type of waves hitting the beach and also carried out an experiment to see whether or not the beach was affected by longshore drift. This was followed by a spot of sunbathing and an enjoyable lunch at the beach.
